Disko can be obtained through the DirectFB git, or as release from the DirectFB website Disko has some prerequisits. First of all You need a running DirectFB installation. Preferably You have an DirectFB installation that includes an X11 backend (which is default since 1.1.x). This makes development a little easier.

These dependencies could easily be installed through the package management on the major distributions. A working gnu toolchain (gcc, make, pkg-config, etc..) is also assumed.
