Up and Atom!

News
We just wanted to announce, that we've ported Morphine.TV V1.2 built on Disko V1.5 (with our own x11-backend) sucessfully to the Intel Atom chipset. Thus both new versions passed their first endurance test. So you can look forward to the release of Morphine.TV V1.2 during the next weeks. To be more precisely: the release will take place, when Disko V1.5 is running absolutely stable.

Watch the video we've shot of Disko V1.5 and Morphine.TV V1.2. running on an Intel Atom/945GSE chipset, to get an impression. Hope you'll like it.
Developers needed

News
Due to the fact that we are a bit short of time at the moment (and that won't, as far as we can see, change in the near future), we currently don't have any capacity to advance Morphine.tv. although we would like to see Morphine.tv to be extended. So we are searching for developers who are interested to start working on Morphine.tv together with us.

Sourceforge SVN problem solved
By: Matthias Hardt  on: 06.May 2008 [11:21 UTC]  (2351 reads)
The current sources are now available on sourceforge and there will be nightly updates. You should also use disko from the git-repository at directfb.org instead of the tarball as the morphine.tv from the subversion uses new features of disko.
Sourceforge Subversion Problems
By: Matthias Hardt  on: 01.May 2008 [17:37 UTC]  (2323 reads)
Our script that syncs our own CVS-repository with the subversion repository at sourceforge does not work anymore. We are trying to fix it. We'll announce it here, if the current sources are available at sourceforge.

  • enhanced Audio-CD Player
  • redesign of the "cmd" commandline tool to customize Morphine.TV
  • bug fixes in all parts

Now we are going to stabilize Morphine.TV and we would like to increase the TV features (for example multi tuner support und a video recorder). If you have more ideas or you want to report bugs feel free to contact us.
Release is late, but why?

We start with our own production tests today. After we ported the disko framework to a settop box, it was a lot of work to optimize the Morphine.TV application too. We underestimated the investment, but we are convinced, that the 1.1.1 release will be a stable and performant release ...

If you interested in to test the RC 1 you can still download the latest source code from our subversion repository:

svn co https://mms4l.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/mms4l morphine.tv

If you have feedback feel free to use our forum.

The next release of Morphine.TV (1.1.0) is based on the disko framework. We now made two completely independent packages. So you have to install disko to build Morphine.TV. In the next days we will provide a source package and complete installation instructions.

If you want to take a look at disko, you can download it here. Installation instructions are included.

Testers of Morphine.TV are invited to download the sources from our subversion repository:
 svn co https://mms4l.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/mms4l morphine.tv

New Morphine.TV v1.1.0 release planned for next week
By: Bere  on: 28.Jan 2008 [09:50 UTC]  (2008 reads)
News
We started with a big stack of todo's and new ideas in the new year. During the last year some users tried to port Morphine.TV to embedded linux devices but the performance was miserable. So we started optimizing it with high priority and we ported the MMS4L framework to a TI Davinci platform with the support of DirectFB (many thanks to dok). Now we are able to run on small systems with an acceptable performance.

Currently we redesign the subversion repository and link Morphine.TV against the new MMS4L libraries. We will release the binary package and the source tarballs during the next week. Curious users can take a look in our sourceforge subversion repository and build the 1.1.0 release manually.

If you have any problems or some questions feel free to contact us ...
